Jessica Avendaño

Program Associate, Global Development and Population

Jessica Avendaño is a Program Associate in Global Development and Population at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Her portfolio includes grants in two strategies — international women’s economic empowerment, and transparency, participation and accountability.

Previously, she worked at Resource Area for Teaching where she managed corporate volunteer events and supported fundraising activities. From 2010 to 2015, Jessica held various roles at the Child Care Coordinating Council where she administered grants aimed at improving quality in child care environment, sustaining small child care businesses and increasing teacher retention in San Mateo County, Calif.

Jessica is a Bay Area native and fluent in Spanish. She has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from California State University, Stanislaus, and holds a master of public administration from Notre Dame de Namur University.
